Hi! My name is Jackson Bassett.

Growing up on a small family farm, I learned to appreciate the natural beauty around me. I was never able to express the love I had for the things around me, considering I was not gifted with the family’s artistic characteristics. My sister, Emmie, recommended that I try videography as she had recently been growing her photography business. I was hesitant at first but quickly dove into the world of film. I had no idea how much I would need to learn and grow before I was to be trusted with anyone’s special day. The most frustrating part of the learning process was trying to create my style. After being unsatisfied many times, I realized that style is something you cannot learn; rather, it is something you feel. I took a step back and let my style develop on its own, which led me to trust my heart and eyes to move the camera.

Through video, I rediscovered the natural beauty around me, and I became addicted to the storytelling factor of weddings. A day when love is celebrated, when two families become one, when parents watch their children marry the love of their life, and a day when rain means future wealth. I am drawn to videography because of those inimitable moments that I get to capture. I believe wholeheartedly that our eyes are the best at capturing the moments that mean the most in our lives, and my goal is to create a film that allows the audience to feel as if they were there or bring them back to the moment a memory was created.

As I am approaching my fifth year of videography, I look forward to continuing to find the beauty in your day and create a story through a film that you can look back on and relive for the rest of your life.
